Scrapy Drone

About competition

Imagine this:
In a world where innovation thrives on necessity, your mission is to design a futuristic drone using only household scraps—water bottles, soda cans, shoelaces, broken toys, or even old keyboards. But there’s a twist: this drone must pack fictional firing power (think water guns, laser tag-style beams, or glue cannons) and draw inspiration from nature’s genius—like the precision of a dragonfly, the stealth of a spider, or the ferocity of a scorpion.

Your goal? Transform trash into a premium, high-tech weaponized drone that looks like it belongs on a sci-fi movie set. Make judges feel the adrenaline of your design.

Key points to Look out for:
1. Presentation is key (Lighting, scale and texture)

2. Overall Product must look like an insect

3. must have fire power (be it water gun, actual fire etc)

4. Model must be somewhat practical, that is connecting part should make sense

5. Reference has been added to the resources tab, do no directly copy it, just use it as a guide

5. Enjoy yourself

Submission Requirements:

  1. Design Rules:
    • Materials: Use only household scraps (plastic, metal, fabric, etc.). 3D-printed parts must be only 10% if applied
    • Inspiration: Relate your drone to an insect/animal (e.g., “The Dragonfly Drone: Bamboo skewer wings + soda-can body”).
    • Functionality: Showcase its “firing mechanism” (e.g., a water bottle cannon, rubber band launcher).
  2. Renders:
    • Submit 3 high-quality renders: Front, side, and action shot (e.g., mid-“fire”).
    • Premium Presentation: Style it like a luxury product launch (e.g., dark moody lighting, sleek angles, holographic UI overlays).
